Josephine Choi (she/her/hers) joined the APALRC in July 2021. She earned her Juris Doctor in 1999 from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and Bachelor of Arts from Barnard College of Columbia University. She is returning to the law after taking time to raise her children, but has always been committed to community service and advocating for the rights of the underserved. Earlier in her career, Ms. Choi was a staff attorney and paralegal at Legal Services for the Elderly in Queens, New York focusing on cases involving home health care, public benefits and elder abuse. She has also served as a Court-Appointed Special Advocate for Voices for Children in Maryland working with children facing abuse and neglect, and interned with the survivor services program of the Domestic Violence Resource Project.
Ms. Choi is licensed to practice law in New York.
